iTunes U

HOW:  I will be using iTunes U course builder for the ADDIE model project.  My students currently use the iPad.  Having the option of intergrating iTunes U into the classroom is just a natural fit.

WHAT:  Not sure how to answer this part of the question but I will take the opportunity to explain my plan for using ITunes U.  The course will be designed around the first unit that my student participate in. iTunes U allows me to create an environment where everything the student needs for the assignment is located.  The worksheets, directions, dues dates, quizzes, links and resources are all located in a central location that can be accessable through the students iPad.

WHY:  I decided to use iTunes U course builder because I have used it before.  I am far from comfortable with it, but my experience has demonstrated the vast possiblities that iTunes U can provide.

  1. First, I find it great that you have the opportunity to use ipads in the classroom and second I feel that it is great your comfortable to use this, because sometimes we use things to make are lesson better, but don’t really know how to use it to make the lesson better.

  2. I also thought that iTunes U is great because everything the students could need is so accessible and convenient. I found it really intimidating from the perspective of someone who would be building the course. Good for you.

  3. I never used iTunes U, but it really seems like a great app for the iPod/iPad devices to get class content to students. iTunes U seems to very easy to use and is a great alternative for online learning.

  4. Dan, I enjoyed reading about your justification. I have never used iTunes U before, other than to search for a video. Will you be incorporating videos and external links within your curriculum plan?

    1. I think iTunes U is an awesome opportunity to build your own material for your students. That's great that you have previous experience to build upon for iTunes U.

  5. I'm still very jealous of your iPad initiative in your class. My district is piloting one-to-one with iPads, but not in my school so I am hoping success from that could lead to my school getting the same. iTunes U makes the most sense for you given the iPad use that is already going on in your class. I am really unfamiliar with it, but after just messing around with it a little I like the setup and appearance of the application.

  6. Hey Dan
I liked your prospective on the assignment. I agree that ITunes U makes life easier but I found it a bit confusing. I also enjoyed the fact that you covered the accessibility of ITunes U.
